Google: Banning Huawei Could Be A ‘US National Security RISK’

The tech giant Google is trying its best to convince the US government that banning the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei could simply put the US security at risk. According to the well-known media portal, Financial Times, the argument is based on the vulnerability of the system that the Chinese giant Huawei will need to adopt in their devices. For the tech giant Google, the fact is that the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei is forced to offer its own operating system, which will be based on Android, and it will be more harmful. Hence, by not having any Google services, the version would not receive all the security updates and would be more at risk of being hacked. While the well-known Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei’s OS (operating system) would no longer rely on the tools like the Google Play Protect, which analyzes threats in applications. And not only that even Huawei would also need an alternative to the Play Store, and of course, it would be much less safe than the Play Store. Despite the commercial ban, Chinese smartphones will still be used to communicate with people in the United States, and, they would be most vulnerable, as they could be used to obtain sensitive information since they would not be able to use any Google services and security tools. Hence, to ensure that existing smartphones work properly, the tech giant Google has been granted a temporary license to offer software updates to all those existing devices, and the license will expire on August 19, 2019. Moreover, according to the well-known media platform, Bloomberg, the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei says that if it needs to develop an alternative operating system, then it can simply do this very quickly. But, the company does not say whether it would be based on Android or not. While the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi’s chairman Liang Hua said this week that the company has not yet started a direct negotiation with the US government to resolve the situation. For now, the company is waiting to see if the tech giant Google’s plans evolve. So, what do you think about this? Simply share all your views and thoughts in the comment section below.
